Lg Versa Phone

From left to right:
  • Front View with case
  • Side view with case
  • Front view without case

Describe the visible design elements and principles in relation to the three images of the product.
  •  Visual Analysis
  1. The first photo shows a touch screen phone with a case that has a keyboard connected to it. The case has a call and end call button to make calling easier and when you open the case you get the touch phone and the keyboard.
  2. The second photo shows the side view with the case on. This view shows you the camera button, the volume buttons, the little opening where you put the charger in charge your phone, and the lever that lets you take off the case.
  3. The third photo is the phone with out the case on and in this photo it shows you the call and end button and the touch screen.

Visual Design: Elements and Principles

1) 6 Visual Design Elements:
-Color is used to show how light reflects off the object and it also is used to show the difference in sides of an object.

-Lines are used to draw your design and show what your design looks like.

-Shape can be geometric or organic and and is an area that stands out from the space next to or around it due to a defined or implied boundary, or because of differences of value, color, or texture. Shapes can also show perspective by overlapping.

-Texture is used to show what something feels like, with implied texture it shows what an object should feel like.

-Value is used to give objects depth and perception. Also known as tone.

-Volume is the mass of an object encompassing the height, width and depth.

2) 5 Visual Design Principles
-Unity means that everything in the piece should be balanced, have repitition, and/ or have design harmony.

-Contrast is the occurence of differing elements, such as color, value, size, and etc. Contrast pulls the focus toward the facal point.

-Variety is ued to create interest and uniqueness in a piece.

-Emphasis is the use of sequence of various levels of focal points, primary focal point, secondary, tertiary, etc. that guides the eye into and out of the image. The primary focus point or area receives the largest emphasis in a room.

-Balance is symmetrical, asymmetrical, or radial. You can get balance by the location of objects, volume or size of objects, and by color.

Content is King

Q- What is a field/hobby/something you have a passion for (surfing, sailing, robotics, painting, etc.)?
A-Make-up

Q- What person or organization in that field has used blogging to promote their brand?
A- Make-up artists who want to promote their work and people who are passionate about make-up. Mario Dedivanovic is one make-up artist who blogs about their work.

Q- What is a field you might see yourself blogging about?
A-I don't think I would blog about anything because personally I don't like blogging about things but if I were to blog about something it would probably be about make-up or hair because I'm interested in those things.

1. What are trends? Why is it important to identify them prior to graphic design?

2. How does human nature play a role in how a product is marketed to a specific demographic group?

3. How is a potential audience identified?

4. What must you discover about the target audience prior to graphic design?

Tennis Ball Team Building Game!

"After Action Review":

-The challenge was to come up with a way to get a tennis ball to each member of your team in the fastest way possible.

-The plan we came up with was to put our hands together with our plams facing up and flat, kind of like a circle but with our hands and we got the ball to roll into each of our hands.

-We got into a cirlcle and put our hands together.

-I liked our idea and I think if I had to choose a way to get the ball to each team member I would choose the same idea.

-If I had to do something deifferently I would probably just use one hand instead of both hands, but other then that I don't think theres anything to change with our idea.

-We decided that if we get close together and put our hands together it would make the ball roll the fastest. Well everyone just basically agreed with the team member who came up with the idea, we all agreed that it would be a good method and we just gave ideas to better the method. Everyone needs to agree, but with this activity it wasn't hard for the teams to come up with ideas that we all agree on.
-No, I don't think so because we all agreed on the idea that one of the team members had.

-What constraint or constraints would you add/change to make a new, more fun version of the game?
I would make the teams find a way to get the ball to each member of there team by throwing or tossing the ball. Hands can't be touching and you can't roll the ball.

-I think we got second place!
